Wells For Africa
Clean Water for Wingwi
Support over 400 villagers, 200 students, and a nearby mosque by providing access to clean, life changing water.
Wingwi’s Water Crisis
In Wingwi, Pemba
400 villagers and their families struggle daily to access clean water.
200 students at the orphanage lack a reliable water source for drinking, hygiene, and cooking.
A nearby mosque, which serves as a hub for worship and community activities, also needs clean water for ablution.
Currently, families and children must walk miles each day to fetch water. The community currently relies on a distant government pipeline, which only provides water at night. This unreliable source leaves families struggling to meet their daily water needs. Additionally, the nearest well is 2 km away, making access even more difficult and time-consuming.
Together, we can change this.
This well will become a lifeline for the entire community, improving health, education, and worship for years to come.
A Well of Hope for Wingwi
By contributing to this project, you will:-
- Provide clean water access for over 400 villagers, transforming their daily lives with easier access to safe water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene.
- Ensure over 200 students at the Wingwi Orphanage have the water they need for learning, health, and sanitation.
- Support the nearby mosque, enabling ablution and other worship activities, as well as serving as a hub for community gatherings.
- Save families hours of walking each day, giving them more time for education, work, and improving their livelihoods.
- Provide water for agriculture, helping families grow crops and sustain their livelihoods.
We Need £1,550 to Build This Well
The land is already prepared to receive the well, and the community is ready to take this next step towards transforming their lives.
To make this project a reality, we need to raise £1,550. This amount will cover:-
- Construction costs for the well.
- Materials and labour to ensure the well is built to serve the community effectively.
- Installation of a water tank and pump for reliable access to clean water.
