Qurbani (Udhuhiya) is mandatory for every Muslim who has reached the age of puberty, and who can afford it.

Qurbani means sacrifice. Every year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, for the sake of God.

Each year, during the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, Dhul Hijjah, Muslims all around the world remove Qurbani. This is a sacrifice to slaughter an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – to reflect Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, for the sake of God.

Qurbani (Udhuhiya) is mandatory for every Muslim who has reached the age of puberty, and who can afford it. This festival coincides with Eid ul Adha which commemorates the completion of hajj rites. The meat is distributed to needy communities so that they can enjoy a good meal on Eid day.

For the past 5 years, Sisters4Islam has been actively campaigning to provide meat to impoverished communities all over the world. By the grace and mercy of Allah SWT, we have managed to send Qurbani to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Senegal, and Yemen.
