A Little About Ayesha Acharya

Asalaamu alaikum wa rahamatallahi wa baraakatahu. Peace and blessings everyone.

Alhamdullilah, I embraced Islam nearly 30 years ago and much has changed since. As a revert I needed a place where I felt a sense of belonging, a Women Only safe space, warm, welcoming and friendly an all embracing space without any judgment. I found that with Sisters4Islam a faith based Women’s Support Group so I got involved.

What has motivated and inspired me to contribute to charity work

I believe Empowered Women Empower Women and I wanted to give back to the Community and help other women who might be facing similar struggles and need a helping hand. Love, support and encouragement comes in many different forms. A simple act of kindness goes a long way. A cuppa tea  ☕️ and chat 💬 a  hug 🤗 and a smile can be heartwarming.

Contributions & Impact

Some of the most memorable contributions I’ve been a part of with Sisters4Islam

Alhamdullilah, I remember doing the Sisters4Islam Wednesday Coffee Mornings, Ladies Pampering Evening Fundraisers and Ramadan Iftar Programs which helped to alleviate social boredom and isolation and promote mental well-being. It was my pleasure helping each and every person who showed up at all the Coffee Mornings. I even dropped a Maths Course because it clashed with the Wednesday Coffee Mornings. That’s how much they meant to me 😌 That cuppa tea ☕️ and chat 💬 made someone happy and that made me happy.

What deeply impacted my  involvement

There’s been so many beautiful memories too many to mention but one in particular where Sisters4Islam supported me personally through my son’s cancer journey. I still get emotional thinking about all the love, care and concern, emotional and practical help and support they provided. Allah bless each and everyone of you and give all of you success in this life and the hereafter, Ameen 🤲🏽 And oh, yes, the Day Trips and get togethers for Eid for those of us without family and are spending Eid alone.

I feel immensely proud Masha Allah

The smiling faces say it all and the words of appreciation. All the lovely connections and people I’ve met along the way who have brought joy and happiness in my life. When we give with the right intention Allah gives us more and I feel so blessed.

Personal Insights

I’ve encountered various challenges that tested my resolve and commitment.

Many indeed 😂 It’s not easy working with different personalities and characters with different agendas at times. We learn patience and we know that with every hardship there is ease and Allah does not give a burden greater than one can bear so we shall overcome and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just get the help you need and have faith and believe in yourself.

If you’re looking to make a difference in your community, my advice to you is simple start with what you’re passionate about and take action.

Get out there and Get Involved. Find an Organisation, Charity or Project that serves your purpose, that you feel passionate about and just go for it but don’t lose yourself in it. Keep your cup flowing so you can give to others without getting burnt out.

My role models and sources of inspiration

Yes. My boys! They are my role models for all what they’ve been through and are coming through. They are on this beautiful Journey of Life and Allah is with them. They inspire me to do what I do. I want all women to be the best version of themselves. To live Islam a happy, healthy, holistic and halal lifestyle. This will help build stronger families and communities, In sha Allah.

Future Vision

My hopes for the future of Sisters4Islam and its impact

To continue helping as many women and families to live happier, healthier and productive lifestyles raise children in safe, secure and stable environments where there is peace of mind and contentment so we have a good foundation living without Abuse and Toxic culture in all its many forms and disguise.

Making Waves of Impact

My Faith has always carried me through life’s highs and lows. I have turned my pain to my power and I am passionate about the work I do. I’m a Lead in Running and Fitness (LiRF) and I’m not shy about sharing my lived experiences. I’m all about raising awareness about Mental Health and have run for Charities. I will continue to deliver  Health and Well-being C25k Programs for Sisters4Islam and promote Workshops and Events in partnership with other like minded Charities like Leicester City in the community and other local projects, In sha Allah. Always with the underlying intention of Dawa within the perimeters of Islam, Quran and Sunnah.
